Two Realty Guys Who Made My Life Easier

I have a weird apprehension towards Real Estate people.  I can’t really explain where it comes from, but I guess I see them as salesmen at heart so my brain is automatically set to ‘guard your money with your life’ mode.  Thankfully, this time around things were a different.  I can honestly say that I felt that both my Real Estate Agent and my Mortgage Broker were looking out for me during the home-buying whole process. First off, let me say for the record that I was not paid for this post.  Neither my Real Estate Agent...

At Last, I Can See the Floor Again

Sorry for the big, long absence.  The last two weeks have been a whirlwind of cleaning, hauling, sorting, and storing.  Although we’re far from finished unpacking – all the basics are in place and normal life is slowly creeping back into my day. I just can’t tell you how excited I am to be here.   We’ve spent the last five years moving from rental home to rental home always hoping to find a place we could settle.  Thanks to my hard-working husband and countless blessings from above, I think we’ve finally...

Tomorrow’s the big day.  The day you get to stop hearing about me buying a house and start hearing about all the wonderful things I plan to do with it.  I know, I know, you’re excitement level is probably pretty marginal compared to mine, nevertheless I can’t wait to get started.  We’ve been renting for the last five years so I can’t wait to get my hands on a place that feels like my own! Here are the two sites featured on my facebook page in the last week.  I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.  If you do,...

Tech Tuesday: My Favorite Spelling App

Between my 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grader we tackle about 60 spelling words a week.  Add on the 30+ vocabulary words and you can see why I started searching for spelling apps almost immediately after getting my iPad.  After trying a few, I finally found one that worked.  It’s called Spellboard. Here are a few of the things I like about it… It can work with multiple users so I can manage the spelling lists for each of my kids Using the built-in iPad microphone I can record the pronunciation of the spelling words and simple phrases,...

Add Some Sparkle with this Free Easter Banner Printable

This mini-banner created by Itsy Belle is fabulous on it’s own but adding the glitter element takes it to a whole new level.  As a mom of five I have a natural aversion to glitter but I might make make an exception for this one.  Something about that sparkly pink bunny just reminds me of Peeps and sugar and all that is wonderful about Easter.  Click the pink link below to see the post, get the download and read the simple tutorial. So far so good on the home-buying process.  Our house bid was accepted so we’re now going through the sign-boatloads-of-papers/inspect-every-corner-of-the-house stage.  Do you think it’s a bad sign if every problem area I spot in the house strikes my brain as a potential DIY blog post?  Perhaps that means I’m not being terribly objective in this inspection process.  Oh well, I’m keeping my fingers crossed it all ends well. Here are the two sites featured on my facebook page last week.  I hope you enjoy them as much...
