About Me

Maria EckersleyMy name is Maria Eckersley and I’m a mom of five fabulous kids.

Although my husband might say otherwise, I am not a compulsive organizer.  I don’t care if my soup cans are aligned in the pantry or if my towels are folded perfectly in the closet.  I just love discovering simple solutions to everyday problems. In particular, I search for creative and inexpensive tricks to make my life a little easier and my kids a little more responsible.  I created this blog to help share a few of my favorites with other busy Moms around the world. It’s a work in progress, but I hope you enjoy it.

A little background info:

In addition to chasing after my adorable kids, I’m also a freelance graphic designer, avid blogger, and magazine contributor.  Believe it or not, I do have a few hobbies that don’t revolve around my laptop.  I also love volleyball, public speaking, photography, hosting creative parties, and cheering for my beloved Ohio State Buckeyes.

My organizing philosophy:

Although I love being a stay-at-home Mom, there are parts of my job that are not particularly glamorous (steaming silly putty out of my carpet, for example).  Sometimes it seems that I’m so mired down with the home management side of my job that I find myself neglecting the fun, creative side.  Over the years, I’ve found that creative organization is the key to finding and keeping that delicate balance.  Cheap and easy organizing ideas, like those listed on this site, allow me to streamline the more monotonous tasks of motherhood and make room for the memorable moments that make it all worthwhile.

Contact Info:

If you have an organizing dilemma you’d like me to take a stab at, please feel free to email me.  I’m always searching for new problems to solve.  Please note, I can’t promise a speedy reply.  I do this as a hobby, not as a job, so posting to my blog often slips down my priority list when family responsibilities pop up.  However, I’ll do my best to answer you quickly.
