I’ve been blessed with a lot of things in my life.  Unfortunately, a gorgeous head of hair was not one of them.  My hair is fine, thin, stick straight and completely devoid of natural volume.  It’s so thin that I can fit my entire head of hair into a rubber band the size of my finger.  I’ve tried tons of different products with little success.  It doesn’t seem to matter if it’s salon quality or Suave – I can never seem to find the right combination to give my hair the lift and holding power it needs.

Earlier this summer I left my bathroom bag at my sister’s house and was stuck repurchasing all my toiletries.  Frustrated and in a big hurry I grabbed two new hair products at grocery store.  I suppose it was lucky I lost my bag because those two products have been my favorites ever since.

I use Garnier Fructis XXL volume thickening mousse before I blow dry and then use Aussie Aussome Volume hair spray before and after I curl.  I can’t really explain why they work so well together – I can just say that by the end of the day my hair still has a little oomph and the soft curls are still holding strong.  Don’t get me wrong.  I’m not claiming to look like a Pantene commercial here.  I’m just saying that I can tell a real difference.

The really good news is that I can buy both products at virtually any store for about $3 each.  That totally beats the $20 snobby salon versions, don’t you think?
