Shabby Apple Review and Discount Code

I don’t do many reviews on this site.  It’s not that I don’t get offers.  I get lots of emails from random companies asking me to review their products.  Generally I reply with a quick and courteous “no”.  Don’t get me wrong, I love free stuff as much as the next girl, but I like to keep my blog focused on things I really love – rather than a mish-mash of momish products.

Yet, when the fabulous dress site Shabby Apple contacted me I broke with protocol and  jumped at the chance to do a review.  Having heard of them through my style-savvy friend a few months earlier, I couldn’t wait to peruse their selection.  Honestly, I had a hard time choosing – there were so many gorgeous, modest-yet-fashion-forward options.  Here were a few of my favorites…

Can you tell I like black?  What can I say?  I’ve had five kids – I naturally gravitate to the most slimming color option.  Ultimately I choose this one called Five to Nine (in black of course).

I must admit when it arrived all neatly packaged in lime green tissue paper I was sorta nervous to put it on.  The stretchy, figure hugging fabric was way out of my comfort zone (I did just have a baby a few months ago, you’ll recall).  So I set the package in my closet and put it off for a few days thinking that I might be able to will my waist back to it’s original condition before trying it on.

After a little prodding from my husband, I finally caved.  I slipped into my closet to try out the dress – all the while mentally composing an “I’m sorry I don’t look cute in your dress” reply email to Shabby Apple.  Much to my surprise, it was actually really flattering on me.  Granted, I did not compare to the crazy-skinny girl in the advertisement…

…but thanks to the light ruching at the hip and neck, the knit fabric hugged in all the right places and gave me a lovely, curvy silhouette.  Plus, since it’s black, it’s easy to dress up with heels and jewelry or dress down with boots and a chunky belt.  You gotta love that!

I’ve been so happy with my Shabby Apple dress.  I’ll definitely be back for more.  I might even be daring and spring for a color or pattern next time.  If you’re in the market for a new dress you should definitely hop on over and check out their stylish collections.

Incidentally, they’ve got great options in accessories, swimwear, maternity, plus size and preteen/girl clothes as well.  Check out this dress from their girls section…seriously, folks does it get any cuter than this?

  3. Dress is an important factor which plays a vital role in one’s personality. Every one can not have a taste of good dressing therefore it is always better to take help of professionals. I always consult some designer while selecting dress for myself. Reading this review is also part of my research for good dressing places. You have very nicely presented Shabby Apple and I am sure it will be rewarding for the company.
