Add Some Flair to Your April Fools’ with This Free PrintablePosted by MeckMom on Apr 1, 2010 in Best of MeckMom, Popular Posts: Family Fun, Popular Posts: Free Printables | 2 comments
When it comes to April Fools’ Day, we like to keep it pretty simple. This year, my husband and I snuck into our kids’ bedrooms at night and signed their faces with washable markers (I made sure to to it in pink and add hearts – just to bug my boys). Our kids quickly retaliated by leaving dry erase messages on our mirrors and by flipping our laptops over on our desks (mine had been invaded by Star Wars figures).
I also borrowed an idea from Family Fun and whipped up a batch of orange “Gelled Juice” last night. I poured the jell-o mix into cups with straws and let it set in the fridge over night. I knew there was a good chance I’d be feeding the baby when it was time for breakfast so I created these cute little “Gotcha!” tags last night and hid them under their cups early this morning. I wrote “love, Mom” on the back of the tags so I they’d know who was responsible for their jell-o surprise.
Before they took off for school this morning we talked about a few harmless pranks they could play on their friends and teachers. Then, I gave each of them a few Gotcha! tags to take to school (sorry, Mrs. Tyler). I’m keeping my fingers crossed that I don’t get a call from the principal today.
If you’ve got a few tricks up your sleeve today you might want to try a few of these little tags too. Just print the free file on heavy cardstock and cut. I used a Fiskars 2″ circle punch for mine, but scissors or a paper trimmer would do the job too. It’s a quick and easy way to add a little flair to this mischievous mini-holiday. Just thought I’d pass it on.
