Happy Birthday MeckMom

Happy Birthday MeckMom!!

Hey Everybody –This isn’t actually MeckMom…I’m her husband…I guess you could say I’m the original “eck” in MeckMom.  Anyway, this week is MeckMom’s birthday so I decided to break into her blog and tell everyone. I know it’s a busy season, but send her a quick email or comment to wish her a good one.

I’m pretty sure she’ll try and take down this post as soon as she finds out…maybe change her password too :) …but if some of you were to comment on your favorite birthday memories she might forced to keep it up.

I’ll start it off with one of mine.  My mother spent tons of time making sure I had wonderful memorable birthdays (thanks Mom).  I say that knowing she’s going to kill me when she finds out that one of the most memorable birthdays I had was actually the year I convinced her to let me have a party at McDonald’s.

Now I’m just assuming that most of you old women reading this blog are old enough to remember how cool Ronald/Grimace/Hamburgerlar used to be.  If you just don’t get it…in girl terms I think it would be equivalent to meeting RainbowBrite or Strawberry Shortcake (and their associated pets) in person and then being invited up the rainbow (or into the big strawberry) to have your birthday with all your friends.  If you still don’t buy the coolness, I offer photographic evidence that everyone loves McDonald’s birthday parties.

What I loved the most was the one-of-a-kind, limited edition, extra special Ronald McDonald (and friends) “Happy Birthday Commemorative Plate”…that only I was allowed to eat off of.

Well to wrap this up I’ll just say that the years went by and my plate has been lost to history…which definately makes proving to people that McDonalds birthday parties were cool much more difficult.  So, imagine my surprise when during our first year of marriage my wife presents me with a “You Are Special” happy birthday plate.  It’s not an official McDonald’s birthday plate, but what can I tell you…she totally gets me.  I love you MeckMom…Happy Birthday!!

Happy Birthday!!!!!! My mom only let my sister and I have one kid birthday party… when we turned 9. It was really, REALLY cool to have my friends over and get presents, even if my mom made me wear a dress and she picked out a ultra girly theme (I was a bit of a tomboy) :)

Happy Birthday to you! I really enjoy your blog, tips and downloads. Your ideas (complete w/ pictures) have really helped me organize my home and your chore charts are the best. I’ve spent hundreds of dollars on other systems and yours are the ones my kids and I love and have used every day consistently. And isn’t that the key? :) Wishing you a beautiful year and many happy ones to come.

My most memorable birthday party was at McDonald when I was 6 and my brother was 1. It’s was really cool to have a birthday party, especially at McDonald’s. :)
